Technical improvements in surgery and evaluating procedures with the goal of minimizing functional complications of the surgery while maintaining its effectiveness against cancer.
Developed the modern technique of laparoscopic radical prostatectomy and pioneered the development of robotic assistance for complex laparoscopic. Since 2011, he chairs the department of urology at the Deaconesses-Croix St Simon Hospital, in Paris. His research is focused on improvements of surgical treatments of prostate cancer and the understanding of the role of surgery in a multidisciplinary approach.
