Distinguished Professor of Radiology at the University of North Carolina where he served as chief of neuroradiology for 30 years.  A previous president and gold medal recipient of the American Society of Neuroradiology and the American Roentgen Ray Society, he was also Editor in Chief of the American Journal of Neuroradiology.  He has authored nearly 700 articles, 30 books and given over 1200 invited lectures.
